DROUGHT IN SOUTH SUDAN

We have been cooperating with the Salesian Sister Dolores in Tonj, South Sudan, for many years and financially support the schools run by the Salesian Sisters. Today we talked together about the problems that the local people are currently facing. One of the biggest is drought.

Despite the fact that a rainy season has officially begun and the natives have already planted crops such as peanuts, sorghum and pumpkins, which are their main source of livelihood, not a drop of water has fallen in recent weeks. Everyone is eagerly awaiting the rain and naturally worried about what it will bring. As mentioned by a large number of pupils and students, they eat once a day and only at school where the Sisters provide them lunch. Therefore, we ask for your prayers also for this part of the world, for the rain, for the missionaries and for the natives who live here.
