In the next letter, the Ukrainian Provincial, Don Mykhaylo Chaban SDB, addresses:
Our three Salesians, Don Petro Mayba, Don Hryhoriy Sved and Don Oleg Ladniuk have been given the opportunity to visit our young soldiers in various places where battles are taking place. Obviously, it was very dangerous, but they perceived that they wanted to be accompanying and close to our young people during the Easter period. It was a very powerful experience. The Salesians had to be guided by an army. Nearby front lines they had to travel in the dark with a soldier who walked in front of the car and showed them the way with the help of a blinking flashlight. It was impressive how these boys waited until night for their arrival so that they could take part in the Easter celebrations, which were only served by flashing lights to avoid being shot at. They also brought them food and many other things they needed like medicine and hygiene items…
In addition, in the last few days, we have been able to distribute medication drugs and food to the most affected areas and we also continue to work with places like Harkiv region, Lugansk, Donetsk, Dnipro, Kiev, where people are still in need of help, especially food.
Many thanks to all of you for the support you give us, and for all the help you send us. I want to assure you that everything will reach the people who need it most.
