2022 AID FOR UKRAINE
In addition to the #WhoWillHelpUkraine initiative, SAVIO o.z. has also joined forces with the Salesian Family in Slovakia and together we are working to raise financial aid for the Salesian Sisters and Salesian Brothers in Ukraine, who are staying with the young people and their families even in these difficult times. The Salesian Brothers of the Eastern rite work in 4 communities, run 3 parishes, 2 oratories, 2 schools and an orphanage. Over the weekend our Slovak Salesians successfully evacuated 50 boys from this orphanage and brought them safely to Slovakia, where they will be placed in pairs with host families. Salesians and their co-workers are taking refugees from eastern Ukraine — mostly children and young people — into their own homes. The Salesian Sisters are active in several cities in Ukraine, and one of them is the current base of the Slovak Salesian Sister Mária.

What the whole Salesian Family in Ukraine asks for most right now are prayers — prayers for peace and calm in their country.
