The journey of Saint Paul and the reality of Syrian children: An authentic look at Lent in Damascus
This short film was made as part of our Tehlička for Syria campaign, which helps children and families in Damascus. It connects the spiritual depth of self-denial and the journey of the Apostle Saint Paul with the reality that children in this Middle Eastern country live every day — a reality full of uncertainty, but also of remarkable courage and perseverance.
In the film, made in cooperation with the Salesians in Damascus, cameraman Ward Al‑Mohanna captured authentic moments that reveal how children in the Middle East experience this period before Easter and what it means to them.
How the campaign for the Salesian work in Damascus is changing lives
From early childhood they face many challenges, yet they have discovered something beautiful: they do not have to know exactly where they are going — what matters is the One they are walking with. And they want to share this journey with you. The public collection for Syria brings, above all, education, psychological help and hope for young people in a country devastated by war.
