Other works in Ukraine

From 24 February 2022, all donations to the scholarship fund will be allocated to helping the people of Ukraine — in particular humanitarian aid and assistance to refugees in cooperation with the Salesians of Don Bosco. 50 boys from the orphanage in Lviv have safely reached Slovakia, where they found refuge with their two carers. In addition to the vocational school, the Salesians of Don Bosco in Lviv, Ukraine, also run an orphanage. They call it the “Pokrova Family Home” and it is a real home for 65 boys between the ages of 7 and 18. The orphanage came about through a “grassroots” initiative when someone brought the local Salesians the first orphaned boy to look after. Another Salesian facility is a boarding house for 50 boys. Some of them study at the Salesian vocational school, others at university. They are working towards being able to live a good and dignified life one day. The vocational school, orphanage and boarding house are located in a shared compound.
