In the Where Bread Is Needed collection, we responded to the humanitarian appeal in Palestinian Bethlehem, which lies not far from Jerusalem. In a region hit by war, the most basic need is daily bread. The Salesians of Don Bosco run a bakery in the city that is a lifeline for many — for the poor, the disadvantaged, the elderly and families alike. In recent days the city and the bakery were visited by our former chairman and the newly elected Salesian provincial, Fr Peter Jacko. See what the bakery looks like.
