Thanks to the support of all benefactors, we were able to contribute the sum of €95,000 to the construction and start-up of a new hospital in Manguo (Maridi district, Western Equatoria region) in South Sudan. From this amount we purchased above all medical equipment and a vehicle for a mobile clinic. Part of the amount will also serve for one year of operation of the entire facility.
The hospital became part of a project in which the Salesians of Don Bosco operate — to support the local inhabitants — a primary school, a leisure centre and an agricultural farm.
For Tehlička for South Sudan, 206 schools, youth centres, parishes and other organizations from across Slovakia got involved. Many individual donors also contributed, including through more than 8,000 donor SMS messages (DMS). The total gross proceeds of the public collection were €108,049.06. Its settlement was confirmed by the Ministry of the Interior on 15 August 2012.
WE THANK ALL DONORS AND PARTICIPANTS FOR SUPPORTING TEHLIČKA 2012
